The newly launched passenger train service connecting Bangkok and Vientiane made its inaugural journey on Saturday, departing from Bangkok’s Thep Aphiwat station and arriving at Vientiane’s Khamsavath station. This service marks a significant step in the collaborative efforts between the governments of Thailand and Laos to enhance travel and transportation between the two countries.

Daochinda Sihalath, Director General of the Lao National Railway Company, reported that the train carried 500 passengers, far surpassing the initial expectation of 200 passengers. This high demand highlights the growing interest in travel between Thailand and Laos.
